nowwhat

I am not sure what to do for #30. A critique of Web 2.0, yes; but how do I get it onto my previous blog? You see how it is.
I think the idea behind Web 2.0 is good, (and maybe even fun) for folks who are fairly adept with the computer. But it definitely was over my head.
I would have liked to have had some feedback on how I was doing.
I do appreciate the efforts to make this available to staff.

Although I did get a taste of what was offered, most of the time I ran into disabling road blocks. I think it is nearly impossible for those who are adept with computers and who like to play around with them, to come down to a beginner's level of instruction. Too much is assumed; for instance, I did not know how to cut and paste. Nor was I sure if anything I did was correctly done. A kind coworker gave me some assistance, but I didn't want to bother him too often. Co-workers are busy and some are unapproachable. I was too embarrassed about my inexperience and ignorance to take advantage of the help at Central. All-in-all it was a mind boggling, frustrating experience. But, I don't feel too bad because most of what was offered I will never use anyway. I can't imagine a world where most of the population sits at a computer most of the day and I know it can be addictive.
